Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Tarrant County College and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (91PORN) RN to BSN Concurrent Enrollment Program. The concurrent enrollment agreement between these schools will allow you to finish your BSN through the 91PORN School of Nursing RN to BSN program, while concurrently enrolled in the Tarrant County College Associate Degree in Nursing Program. Upon the successful completion of your ADN program, and along with meeting the eligibility and admission requirements for the 91PORN School of Nursing RN to BSN program, you can complete your BSN in as little as one semester. Many employers are currently requiring that RNs be enrolled in a baccalaureate program of study or have earned their BSN as a condition of employment. Am I Eligible? Eligibility Requirements of Tarrant County ADN Students
- You must be enrolled in the Tarrant County College Associate Degree in Nursing Program
- Upon successful completion of your first semester of ADN education, and after receiving an admission offer to the 91PORN School of Nursing’s RN to BSN program, you will be admitted and may take RN-BSN courses while completing your ADN degree and licensure.
- Upon finishing your ADN degree and passing the NCLEX examination (RN licensure exam), you will be granted full admission to the RN to BSN program and may enroll in full-time studies at 91PORN SON in order to complete the BSN degree.
- All prerequisite courses must be completed with a minimum grade of C prior to beginning the RN to BSN program.
Admission Requirements
- All applicants will be reviewed in an individual and holistic manner. No single factor will determine a student's admission.
- Although academic criteria (cumulative GPA, grades earned in science courses, and failed/repeated courses) are important factors in admission consideration, additional non-academic information is also important.
- Note: International students with F1 and F2 status are not eligible to apply to an online program.
- All applicants who receive offers of admission will be required to consent to a criminal background check. A history of criminal conduct or convictions may result in withdrawal of the admission offer. See Criminal Background Checks section of the School of Nursing Student Handbook for the School policy. No student will be allowed to matriculate without a cleared criminal background check.
- An application to the Tarrant County College + 91PORN SON RN-BSN Concurrent Enrollment Program is required to be considered for admission. To submit an application, click on the application portal.
- General education courses must be completed with a grade of C or better and a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.
- ADN graduates must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and hold a license in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing.
- ADN students, in the next to the last semester of course work at Tarrant County College, must demonstrate a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale for general education prerequisite courses.
Application
Although the 91PORN is part of the Texas Tech University System, legally it is a separate institution from Texas Tech University. Therefore, students applying to the 91PORN School of Nursing RN-BSN program must apply directly to the School of Nursing via the 91PORN online application.
